A Day In London

Hello everyone! So earlier this week I went on my first ever trip to London, and it was so amazing that I just had to share it. I had always wanted to go, so I was really excited. Anyway, this is how my day went!

The airport: I was woken very early, 4:45am. I was really excited because I absolutely love airports and flying, and our plane headed off at 6:35am. We arrived at Stansted Airport at around 8am, and I wasn't prepared for the amazing duty-free shops, including Victoria's Secret, The Body Shop, Mac, Benefit, and many more.

London Eye: We got the train the Liverpool St. Station and taxied our way to the London Eye. The I just want to say, all the Londoners and the staff at the attractions were so lovely. Anyway the London Eye was so much better than I though it would be. There was a great view of the House of Parliament, Big Ben, and the Thames, and it was a great start to the day.

After that we went on the Big Bus Tour and hopped off at Buckingham Palace. We arrived to see the Changing of the Guard, and there was thousands of people from all over the world gathered outside to watch. Luckily we found a place where we could see perfectly as the guards paraded down the street. By now it was really hot and I wished I had worn shorts and a t-shirt. This is my Outfit of the Day:

We needed to take a break so we went to the shaded park beside Buckingham Palace and had some ice-cream from the stall there. I had raspberry ripple and it was amazing! We then walked the park, I think it was called St. James' Park, and to get to Oxford St. we walked through Mayfair. I saw the Ritz Hotel which I recognized from Notting Hill, and we saw many fancy shops including Donna Karan, Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Choo, Burberry, and many more. There was also a Rolls-Royce car-dealer which was amazing! I looked at the price: £189,000. A bit above my budget, but nice to look at!

The shopping in London is amazing! We went to Oxford/Regent St. and I was in heaven! My little sister went to Hamleys. Me and my other sister went shopping around. Shops we went to included Topshop (which was amazing), H&M (There were three!) and I bought a rucksack and a t-shirt from Primark (the biggest one I have EVER been in!)

By now it was so hot that we couldn't walk around anymore. We were definitely not equipped for the hot day! So we went into Choccywoccydoodah, a cafe/confectionary place and I was blown away by the cakes that were there. I ordered the Lemon Cake and it was massive. Me being a big cake-lover, I was surprised that I couldn't finish it. But it was gorgeous! Both my sisters ordered the White Chocolate Truffle Milkshake, which they loved. I then popped into MAC which was conveniently just opposite Choccywoccy, and had a little browse. Swatched some of the lipsticks, as you do! I am not sure what part of London this was, but I think it was Old Soho.

The next thing we did was the boat trip on the Thames. I could enjoy the sunshine with a nice breeze. This was really nice and I got some lovely photos!

I have always wanted to live in London because this is where I want to do college, but I never really knew how beautiful a city and how lively it was until I went. I am now so excited to go back and some more places I would like to visit are Covent Garden, The Tower of London, and a show at the West End.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! If you would like you can leave a comment saying where your favourite place in London is, and if you've never been, then what is your favourite city and why? I love reading the comments! Anyway thanks a bunch for reading, my Instagram is @artistic_license and you can follow my Bloglovin' here. I'll see you next Sunday for another post!! xxx
