People Who Inspire Me #1 - Kristina Webb

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well, today I was thinking of doing something a little bit different. I thought it would be a cool idea if every so often I'd pick a person who inspires me and then do a little blogpost on their work and why I think they are so influential.

Today I am going to talk about Kristina Webb, she is a fabulous artist who posts pictures of her artwork on Instagram, @color_me_creative_. She started posting in July 2012, and as of July 2014, she has gained over 1.3 million followers. That is more than the whole population of Dublin! Her personal Instagram, @kristinawebb_ has over 360,000 followers.

Kristina is from New Zealand, and believe it or not, she is still only a teenager. I think she has a lot of success because of this as she draws things that are relevant to young people, who are most likely to use Instagram. Some of her most popular drawings are the ones that promote certain social issues, and many of her drawings feature quotes or writing, which I personally love. Her style is slightly cartoony with lots of colour. Kristina also loves drawing Disney style pictures, and in some of her drawings she combines a drawing with a photo, which I think looks really cool!

She is such a good example of how social media is very powerful and an amazing platform for extremely imaginative and creative people like her. It is debatable, but I think social media is a brilliant thing because of this. She inspired me to draw a lot more and also start my own art Instagram. My goal is to be more frequent though! I have always loved art and I want to do something art-related in the future, and I think she is the perfect role-model for me because of her creativity, individuality, and her dedication.
